A standard middle school basketball hoop is set at a height of 10 feet (3.05 meters) from the playing surface to the rim. This is the same height used in high school, college, and professional basketball. However, for younger players, such as in elementary or youth leagues, the hoop may be set at a lower height, typically between 8 and 9 feet.
