Step-by-Step Guide- How to Disable Restricted Mode on YouTube Mobile App

How to Turn Off Restricted Mode on YouTube Mobile

YouTube is a popular video-sharing platform that offers a wide range of content to its users. However, for parents and guardians, it is important to ensure that their children have access only to appropriate content. YouTube’s Restricted Mode helps filter out explicit and inappropriate videos. If you have enabled this feature on your YouTube mobile app and now want to turn it off, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do so.

1. Open the YouTube app on your mobile device.

2. Tap on your profile picture located at the top right corner of the screen to access the menu.

3. Scroll down and tap on ‘Settings’.

4. In the Settings menu, find and tap on ‘General’.

5. Under the General settings, you will see an option for ‘Restricted Mode.’

6. Toggle the switch next to ‘Restricted Mode’ to turn it off. The switch will turn from blue to gray, indicating that the feature is disabled.

7. You may be prompted to enter your YouTube password to confirm the change. If you have set up a password, enter it and tap ‘OK’.

8. Once you have turned off Restricted Mode, your YouTube app will now display all content, including videos that were previously filtered out.

It is important to note that turning off Restricted Mode does not guarantee that all inappropriate content will be visible. YouTube still filters out some explicit content based on its guidelines. However, enabling Restricted Mode can provide an additional layer of protection for younger users.

Remember that it is crucial to monitor your child’s online activities and teach them about responsible internet usage. If you have any concerns about the content your child is accessing, consider using other parental control features available on your device or exploring alternative content platforms that cater to a younger audience.
