How do I delete multiple emails in Gmail app?

Deleting multiple emails in the Gmail app can be a time-consuming task if you’re not aware of the right steps. Whether you want to clear out your inbox for better organization or simply remove unwanted messages, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to delete multiple emails in the Gmail app.

1. Open the Gmail app: Launch the Gmail app on your smartphone or tablet.

2. Select the emails: Once you’re in the app, navigate to the folder where the emails you want to delete are located. To select multiple emails, follow these steps:

a. Select the first email: Tap on the email you want to delete to open it.

b. Select more emails: While the first email is open, swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal a menu. Look for the “Select” option and tap on it. This will allow you to select multiple emails.

c. Choose the emails to delete: Now, you can tap on each email you want to delete. The selected emails will display a checkmark next to them.

3. Delete the selected emails: Once you’ve selected all the emails you want to delete, tap on the trash icon located at the bottom of the screen. This will move the selected emails to the trash folder.

4. Empty the trash: If you want to permanently delete the emails, you need to empty the trash folder. To do this, go to the menu (usually represented by three horizontal lines in the top left corner of the screen) and select “Trash.” Then, tap on the “Empty trash now” option. This will remove the emails from your account permanently.

5. Undo the deletion (optional): If you accidentally delete emails and want to undo the deletion, you can do so by going to the menu, selecting “Trash,” and then tapping on the “Undo” option next to the deleted emails.

By following these simple steps, you can easily delete multiple emails in the Gmail app and keep your inbox organized.
