In men’s college basketball, a game is divided into two halves, not quarters. Each half lasts 20 minutes, for a total game time of 40 minutes. Unlike the NBA, which uses four quarters, college basketball follows this two-half structure. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, overtime periods of 5 minutes are played until a winner is determined.
