Shaka Smart played college basketball at Kenyon College, a small liberal arts school in Ohio. He played for the Kenyon Lords basketball team during the 1990s. Smart, who was a guard, eventually transitioned into coaching, where he gained recognition for his work with teams like VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) and the University of Texas.
